Palm Tungsten T2 - Whats it like? Posted by Boxin on Fri, July 25th, 2003. 05:18 pm WHERE handheld organisers are concerned, the PALM TUNGSTEN T set a benchmark for style and practicality. I couldn’t find much wrong when I reviewed it, apart from the fact it lacked the memory to set itself apart from HP’s Pocket PC beasts. But all that looks likely to change with news that Palm has brought an updated model to these shores. Called the T2, it builds on the solid foundations of the first, and still comes with Bluetooth and a voice-recorder. Now though, it has DOUBLE the memory with 32MB of storage space on board. There’s also the addition of Graffiti 2, Palm’s new handwriting recognition system, and a sharper colour screen with 320x320 high-resolution. The nifty design stays the same with the bottom part sliding down to reveal hot keys and the Graffiti pad while new software for photos and MP3s make it more of a multimedia marvel. To me, the memory is still a bit low and the lack of Wi-Fi seems strange considering they’ve taken the trouble to bring out a new version, but at £329 it’s still a sound buy.
